A review on ☽•Cinder by Marissa Meyer•☾

Hi Kittens!
I started getting back into reading recently and I decided Id do a book review of a series I just recently started c:

Cinder is the first book in the series
The Lunar Chronicles

Cover art:
(I will admit, I didnt get a huge appreciation for the cover art until after I finished the book. Now I think its amazing!)

Summery from (here)
Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless Lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .
Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.
My Thoughts:
At first I kept seeing this book when I'd walk through Barnes and Nobles or the library, not giving it much thought but it always caught my eye. Honestly I will admit I judged it because it was sitting next to twilight at the library lol
BUT I WAS TOTALLY WRONG ABOUT IT
I picked it up on a whim, just to see if it was just another cinderella re-tell or not, and I got engrossed in it after just a few chapters.
The way the author writes paints a picture of a futuristic world that plays like a movie in my head.
Im normally not really into SciFi, but this book makes me have to change my mind a bit.
And the characters in this book are all so intersting.
Cinder is a cyborg mechanic orphan (what a mouthful) girl who works at a weekly market with her android companion Iko(who is so sarcastic and sassy and I love her!)
Theres a prince who is kinda at a loss at what to do half the time, He is a likable guy because he ISNT perfect, and thats why I think he is so great c;
There is a doctor who I hated at first but he is really important actually.
I love Cinders younger sister Peony, and I strongly dislike her sister pearl and her step mom Adri.
The queen is CRAZY, and I fear for characters when she is involved.
There is illness, robots, moon people, and SO.MUCH.SUSPENSE. I couldnt stop anywhere it seemed because I was always on edge waiting to see what would happen.
The giant reveal in the the book was somewhat predictable, because of hinting and foreshadowing, but I dont think that ruined it at all for me.
I hate the fact that it ends on a cliffhanger, and im so glad that when I went to the library the next day I was lucky to find the second book on the shelves(which Ive already finished oops :3 ), I might have gone mad if I hadn't found it.

I totally recommend this book! It is an awesome story!
5/5 !

Yay for summer activities!

Hi hi!
This summer has been super fun and loaded with activities! This has been one the the most exciting and stressful summers I've had.

I went to Seattle Washington around the 4th of July, and it was the first time my significant other Alex had been there. It was a lot of fun but my feet were so tired from trying to show off Seattle in a day xD
We went to the pacific science center, the space needle, the arcade, pikes place market, and the international district all in one day! The next day we went to the zoo and then had to head home. We can't wait to go back though and we are hoping to move closer to that area soon!

Here's some pictures from Uwajimaya, a super cool store in the international district! It had all sorts of candy, snacks, and there was also a book store that was connected to it that had an anime/manga section :)

I hadn't been on the space needle for years, and since then I've become a bit of a coward, so the fact that I was able to sit at the top and admire the view and overcome my fear was an amazing experience .

I also went to a rotating sushi bar for the first time in my life and it was really fun!
I'd love to go back and have it again, because that vegetable tempura roll was amazing ♥︎#♥︎

After we got home from Seattle, a few weeks later we went camping! It wasn't the best camping spot but it was pretty fun, and there was a beautiful creek that we could walk in(although the rocks hurt my feet)

I wish I had pictures from the creek because it was beautiful, and I'd love to go back!:)

This weekend I'm going to the beach my family and some of my moms boyfriends family! It should be fun, even if it's probably going to be to cold to go in the ocean(which is okay because I'm scared of the ocean anyway)

What fun summer activities have you done?

Switching gears a bit ☀︎

So for the longest time I've always tried to blog (because I like sharing things with people) but I feel like I slightly restricted myself by trying to not make it personal. It just wasn't me.
That led me to this idea, since I've been inspired by other bloggers I'm going to start posting on anything I see fit to post, and it might just be text posts sometimes about my thoughts.

I want to have an outlet where I can post my thoughts and feelings, or any random picture I take.
It will be more of a diary of sorts.

Anyway thanks for reading this♥︎

Wet n Wild Megalength and Megavolume mascaras review

Hey Kittens!
So sorry for the long absence!
The end/beginning of a new year is always one of the busiest times for me.
Today I will be doing a quick review on two mascaras I found while wandering through the dollar store.
These are a tad smaller in size then the normal wet n wild mascaras, but they were 1$ so I'm not complaining!(I can never get through a full tube of mascara anyway)

Here are the wands that they have. The Megalength has a plastic wand with short bristles and a wet formula. I was surprised to like this one as much as I did because I normally go for more dry type formula mascara. The Megavolume has a bristle brush type of wand and has a wet formula, but not as wet as the Megalength. I found that it was harder to get the base of my lashes with this mascara for some reason, and that is where I really want most of the volume, but other that that this mascara is good! I prefer the formula of this Megavolume to the Megalength because it isn't as wet.

One the left is my lashes with the Megalength and on the right is the Megavolume.
This is 2 coats of mascara on each eye.
As you can see it wasn't easy for me to get the Megavolume at the base of my lashes.
On my eyes the Megalength looked darker then the Megavolume and the Megavolume looked more natural.

Here is where I layered both mascaras together and I like this look the most. I feel like combined these mascaras make a good pair! :)

Have you tried either of these mascaras?
Whats your favorite drugstore mascara?

Bad news and good news

Hey kittens,
so I have some bad news, and I have some good news.

The bad news is that as some of you may have noticed I haven't been posting for blogmas like I said I would. Recently I've been having really bad anxiety and I've been super stressed with the holidays and I just cant keep up with posts every day.

The good news is I have gotten back into blogging and I wont be gone for long, I just need some time to collect myself after the holidays and I might have little posts in between about christmas tree decorating and stuff but otherwise Im taking a temporary break.
I hope you all understand.

Happy holidays <3

☼ 5 Video game recommendations ☼

Hey kittens!
Tonight's blogpost will be about 5 games that I recommend :)
Keep in mind I am more of a casual gamer so these opinions arent from someone who has played a huge collection of games.

Catherine

Catherine is a Puzzle/Horror/JRPG game
It follows the story of a man named Vincent Brooks after having relationship problems with his girlfriend Katherine, meets a girl at the bar named Catherine.
After meeting Catherine, he starts having these nightmares, and during these nightmares you have to climb blocks strategically to the top while the blocks below you start to fall, or while being chased by a monster.
Why are you climbing these blocks you ask?
Well because if you die in your dreams, you die for real.

Throughout this game your choices change the game, for example; Talking to someone at the bar, can save their life. Your choices also decide the game ending you get.
 This game has 8 endings!
Now, I wouldn't really recommend this game to most people, because if you arent into horror, rageworthy puzzles, sexual content or you just aren't old enough for this type of game(Its rated M for a reason!) then it probably wont be your cup of tea.
If you are at all curious about this game, I really suggest picking it up. Its one of my favorite games, and because of the multiple ways the story can end up, it has plenty of reply value.

Fire Emblem: Awakening

Fire Emblem is a tactic type JRPG.
This game has awesome customization, it doesn't have a lot of appearance customization, but the appearance customization it does have is better to me then most games that have a lot of weird customization that I never use. In this game you can build bonds with your party members, and if two party members build a strong enough bond they can marry and have kids later in the game.
The story itself is pretty interesting, and I have yet to even finished the game.

The game play itself is a lot like any other tactical game, but never the less, very entertaining.
The best way for me to describe the game play to someone who has never played a tactical game,
think of it like a big sword fighting plants vs zombies. Some plants(party members) work better against certain zombies (enemies) then others, and to win you have to figure out some sort of plan.
I recommend this game to anyone who is really into games that require a little more brain work, and thinking.

Rayman Legends

Rayman legends is side scrolling platformer game.
This game is super fun to play alone or with friends.
In this game, you play as Rayman, or any of his friends and save teensys It is super fun, there are tons of fun secrets and extras for you to find in every level. There are also really fun music levels, that are fast paced and if you like rhythm games like I do then you will love those levels.

This is a really unique platformer, and I highly recommend this game to play with friends or family, because you are sure to get plenty of laughs :)

Epic Mickey

Epic Mickey is an action adventure platformer.
In this game you play as Mickey, who is put into a world where he has to defend himself against monsters with a paintbrush. Your paintbrush can thin and paint. Painting fills gaps and makes bridges and also can make enemies fight for you. Thinner can make walls disappear, get jammed gears to work, and make enemies disappear.

The game is so fun to explore and look at all the details that were put into it, the gameplay isnt hard once you get used to using the wii-mote. If you grew up on disney then you will lost the sense of nostalgia this game gives you. I grew up on disney and I love seeing old characters again.
If you are a Disney fan or if you really like adventure games that are full of hidden surprises then I suggest checking this game out.

Persona 4 (The Golden)

Persona 4 (the golden) is a JRPG.
It is the remake of Persona 4 on the playstation 2.
It is a story about a group of highschool students who try to solve a murder mystery.
In this game you play as the main character who can control multiple personas. Personas are an aspect of ones self.  As well as fighting in the shadow realm, you can also build relationships with friends.
This story has a good mix of light-hearted and dark moments.
This game relies heavily on the decisions you make.

The game is very long, and has a lot of content, but if you dont want to spend that much time, there is also a Persona 4 anime.
I recommend this to people who like JRPGs and mysteries, because it will give you hours of entertainment.

Have you played any of these games?
What are your thoughts on them?

✿ Anime recommendations ✿

Hey kittens!
Here is my second blogpost for today for blogmas!
This blogpost will be about some of my anime recommendations.
Keep in mind these are all just animes I enjoyed, and might not be for everyone.

Clannad and Clannad afterstory

Clannad is a very adorable slice of life type of anime that is about a young man named Tomoya and his highschool experience with his friends. Its pretty lighthearted with a couple episodes that made me tear up

The second season is Tomoyas life after highschool and it is slightly darker and has a lot more moments that made me cry. This anime is definitely a tear-jerker.
I highly recommend this anime even though it is very sad, it has amazingly happy moments tied in to even it out. I've rewatched it a few times and the feelings are still there every time.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica

You'd never believe that this picture
And this picture

are from the same anime.

Madoka magica is such a crazy anime. I cant even begin to explain it.
If you like dark animes but you also like magical girl animes this is the anime for you!

Dangan Ronpa The animation

This anime is based off of an already existing video game that is going to be released in america early 2014
It is a mystery anime about highschool students trapped in a school, that can only get out if they commit a flawless murder and dont get caught. If you get caught, or are found guilty at the class trials, you are executed, if you arent caught you go free and the rest of the class dies.
I highly recommend if you are into darker animes, or just the mystery genre in general.

I will probably be doing more of these later this month.
Do you plan on watching any of these?
Have you seen any of these animes? Let me know ^.^
